What would you identify as your biggest need right now?
Are you looking for housing? Or medical treatment? Is it a job that you’re searching for, so you can have you financial needs met?
Or maybe your particular needs are more internal? Perhaps you’re feeling isolated and alone? Have you lost a loved one recently, and the pain is still sharp and tender? Is your world falling apart, and you’re struggling to hold the “outside” together while your “insides” are all in a turmoil?
I can’t possibly know the specific needs of the thousands of people who’ll see this; but, thankfully, I know someone who does. And I’ve got TWO pieces of very good news for you.

Today’s verse announces the promise the MY GOD WILL MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO THE RICHES OF HIS GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS.
The first piece of good news I have to share with you is this — God cares!
He doesn’t just “care” in some abstract and distant way. He truly cares. He will demonstrate His care for you in tangible and meaningful ways. Yes, “His care for YOU.” Because God doesn’t just care for people en masse, but for individuals LIKE YOU. You may have never heard of a God who loves you before. If you’ve heard, you may not have believed it was true. But trust me when I tell you that His love and His care are very, very real. God cares. And, perhaps most amazingly, He cares for YOU!
The second piece of good news I have to share with you is even better than the first! Not only does God care for you, but He has promised that He will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS if you ask Him.
I know, right! What an amazing promise. And the best part is that He knows what we actually need, whereas sometimes we’re confused. An addict may think he needs a fix, when what he really needs is to be delivered from his addiction. A wife having an affair may think she “needs” a divorce, when what she truly needs is a restored marriage relationship.
God meets our needs according to the riches of His glory. He has no lack, and so every need we have can be met by Him; even in the midst of our crisis.
Are you looking for housing? I remember when our family was homeless. Me, my wife, our 13 year old daughter, our sons aged 11, 9, and 6, and our infant granddaughter live in a couple of tents at a campground in North Carolina for close to a year. I thought I needed a house. But I was angry with God. Not angry; furious. I had lost everything and it was because I was trying to be faithful and righteous. I thought I needed a house, but what I needed was a lesson in trust. As it happened, I got both. First the lesson, then the house.
God knew what I truly needed. And He walked with me until I knew, too. And that’s when I saw that He’d been providing what I truly needed all along.
MY GOD WILL MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO THE RICHES OF HIS GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS
God promises to provide healing. He always does. Sometimes He heals miraculously, opening blind eyes and even raising the dead. Miracles are not just stories on the page of a bible, they continue. One of my spiritual sons died, was raised again and is alive and serving Christ with me today. Sometimes God uses doctors and medicine to heal. At other times He brings the person to the place of perfect and full healing. That’s not a cop out, that’s the final and best solution. God never promised us that these bodies would work perfectly forever, He promised us that the new ones He will give us would.
Every need we have is met by the riches of His glory as He shares them with us. Feeling isolated and alone? He will place His Spirit within you and be closer than your favorite brother; and NEVER leave you or forsake you. If the pain of a loved one’s death is still sharp and tender, He will carry you like a shepherd carries an injured lamb. When you struggle with anger, fear or hopelessness He will give you His peace, and calm the storm inside of you.
MY GOD WILL MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO THE RICHES OF HIS GLORY IN CHRIST JESUS
I know I said had TWO pieces of good news for you; but let me share one more. Think of it as a free bonus!
MY GOD wants to be YOUR God, too.
You see He meets our needs IN CHRIST JESUS. If you’re not “in Christ Jesus” that’s actually your biggest need. It is the key that unlocks the door to the heavenly treasury of every other blessing and provision God wants to give you. Give yourself to Him, and He will give Himself to you. He will place you IN CHRIST.
