CADILLAC INSIDE

Who manufactures your favorite luxury car? If you could receive a brand new, top-of-the-line vehicle – which one would you choose? And what does THAT have to do with faith?

Welcome to “Mornings with Bishop Robert” — thanks for joining me … Come on in and have a seat with me as we talk about faith and fast cars. My goal is to introduce people to the Jesus they never knew, and help them get to know Him and His word personally – and better ! If our time together today speaks to your heart, then let me invite you to like, subscribe and share it with a friend!

Ask just about anyone and they’ll tell you newer is better. Improved is better. Given a choice between having a 2000 model year car with 175,000 miles and an oil leak and one made last year with 400 miles in perfect condition – EVERYONE would prefer the newer vehicle.

Today’s verse says I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW.

That’s especially true in regard to what Jesus does with us. The bible tells us that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. When we come to Him, He re-creates us from the inside out. I can tell you that lots of folks wish He would perform the miracle of creating a new OUTSIDE. Can you imagine getting a new, strong, healthy and indestructible body as a result of coming to faith in Jesus Christ? (Wow, I might even be handsome then!!!) Jesus starts on the inside, because it’s what’s inside that matters. (By the way, the new outside comes later!)

Some years ago one of my relatives was quite wealthy, however he did not want his wealth to be apparent to others. His wealth allowed him to enjoy some of the finer things in life, and among them were comfortable cars. He purchased Cadillac’s latest model; of one of the top luxury cars of his day. But to conceal the true nature of the car, he also had them remove the exterior body of the car and replace it with the body from a simple Chevrolet. On the outside it looked like a Chevy, but it was all Cadillac inside!

When we are born again in Christ, what He recreates in us is all “Cadillac inside” because He replaces our dead spirit with one that is new and alive. Now we are able to receive and be filled by His Spirit. Now we are able to have communion with Him in our spirit. Now He can transform us into His image.

You may look like a “Chevy” on the outside. In fact, your exterior won’t appear to be changed at all. But on the INSIDE you are a different, new and re-created person.

Before Christ, each of us is dead in our sin. But in Him we are alive. Welcome to the “new and improved” you.

Give yourself to Christ today, and He will make a new you!
