DON’T FORGET YOUR MANNERS

I’m of the opinion that gratefulness ought to be expressed. Sincerely and frequently. How do you typically express YOUR gratefulness?

Welcome to “Mornings with Bishop Robert” — I’ll begin by expressing my gratefulness, thanks for joining me on the top spot on the internet for coffee with a cleric. My goal is to introduce people to the Jesus they never knew, and help them get to know Him and His word personally – and better ! If our time together today speaks to your heart, then let me invite you to like, subscribe and share it with a friend!

When they were younger, we taught our children the importance of properly showing their gratefulness, especially when receiving gifts. The rule in our home was that no birthday or Christmas gifts of money could be spent until the thank you note had been written. These and other methods were designed not only to instill a grateful heart, but to teach the disciplines of making sure it was properly expressed.

Today’s verse says BE THANKFUL AND PRAISE THE LORD AS YOU ENTER HIS TEMPLE

If you are a follower of Jesus, then God deserves your grateful thanks.

He has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. What a marvelous inheritance! Even for this gift alone we ought to be giving joyful thanks to the Father.

You have been rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught. This should cause you to be overflowing with thankfulness.

You have received the peace of Christ to rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. So be thankful.

We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Therefore let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. He’s giving us a KINGDOM!!

You ought to give thanks to the LORD because of His righteousness. Why? Because He has given it to you in exchange for your sinfulness. Now THAT’S an exchange to be grateful for!

You can say, “The LORD is my strength and my shield.” So be thankful for His protection.

For what He have done in your life, you ought always praise Him in the presence of His faithful people.

I could quite literally continue to add a few hundred more verses about thankfulness, gratefulness, declaring God’s glory for the things He has done, and so on; for all I have been doing this morning is quoting a few specific verses. And these verses go on and on and on and on.

Let’s not become used to the grace of God, nor forget to be thankful.

He certainly has done great things in our lives.
