If our time together today speaks to your heart, then let me invite you to like, subscribe and share it with a friend!

Imagine receiving an invitation to come and perform your greatest skill before the king of a great nation. You’d be nervous, probably. You’d prepare and practice, determined to get everything as perfect as it could be. And when the great day came, you’d give the performance your very best effort.

Imagine if the king were so pleased by your performance that he came over to you and offered to support whatever it took to develop your skills to their pinnacle. Everything you needed was to be supplied.

OK, stop imagining. Because you’ve got an opportunity today to perform today for the King. Actually, not just any king, but the King of Kings.

Today’s verse says GOD IS WORKING IN YOU, GIVING YOU THE DESIRE AND THE POWER TO DO WHAT PLEASES HIM

He’s going to give you everything you need to do well. He’s provided a great cloud of witnesses to pray for you as you go through the day, and to cheer you on as you succeed. His Holy Spirit is available to fill you, empower you, provide gifts and wisdom; all you need to do is ask.

Ask – and He will give you the desire. The King tells us to delight yourself in Him, and He will give you the desires of your heart. He will place the “want to” within you, leading you to desire what He does. He fulfills the desires of those who serve Him.

Ask and He will give you the power. He doesn’t create some unfulfilled desire, which would only lead to frustration. God works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. HE creates the “want to” and also provides the skills, gifts and ability so the “want to” is matched up with the “can do.” He equips you with everything good, so that you may do His will. God works in us that which is pleasing in His sight, giving us the power to serve Him through Jesus Christ.

It’s going to be an amazing day. A number of opportunities to be a shining light in a dark place await you. Surprises are in store. And also challenges and bumps. But don’t let the bumps discourage you or make you become downhearted.

Someone once said, “The bumps are what you climb on.” What he meant was that a smooth wall is impossible to scale. But once with bumps, crags and outcroppings gives you a solid place for your hands and feet. The bumps are what you climb on!

So, prepare for your royal performance today. Give it all you’ve got. The King is watching.

May you hear His applause as you lay your head down to rest this evening.
